Outline List acts like a grid

• ← → ↑ ↓ ("left", "right", "up", "down") keys to change the active row and the active cell
• ↩ ("return") key to edit the active cell of the selected task;
  Click on a cell in the active row to edit it.
  Double-click on any cell to edit it directly.
  Esc key to stop editing the active cell.
  
• ⌘⌥ ("Command" + "Alt") + ↑ or ↓ or ← or → keys to change the active cell AND keep editing the new active cell
• The title and visibility of the task columns are customizable - Double-click a column header, or right-click on a column header

• Copy / Paste task cell - ⌘C ("Command" + "C") to Copy; ⌘V ("Command" + "V") to Paste

  ( These shortcuts are for CELL operations. For the WHOLE TASK, ⇧⌘C is to Copy, and ⇧⌘V is to Paste)

Gantt Chart panel visualizes the tasks in a tree structure

• ⇧ double-click(Shift + Mouse Double-Click) to edit the task name on the chart panel directly

  
• Click a taskbar to select

• Double-click the empty field in a row to select the task in the row.

  Skill: After a task is selected, QuickPlan scrolls the Gantt Chart to make the selected task visible automatically. To be efficient, if we need to make a task visible, we can simplify task selection by clicking the task in the outline list or double-clicking the task row. We do not need to scroll the Gantt Chart horizontally for a long distance to make a task visible.

• ⌘ + Double-click ("Command" + "Double Mouse Click" on a task group) to collapse and expand

  Skill: There are several other ways to collapse and expand a task group, such as using keyboard shortcuts or clicking the triangle icon next to the group's taskbar. However, this mouse gesture is more efficient.

• We can also change the task date in the Gantt chart using the intuitive mouse gestures.

  

• Gesture ⌘ + Mouse Move-up/Move-down and Keyboard Shortcuts ⌘ + ↑/↓ to change task sequence.

  

Updating Panel acts as a traditional property panel

• Double-click a taskbar at Gantt Chart or Double-click the task WBS column at Outline Panel to edit the task in the inspectors.
• The Inspectors is a handy place to edit when we are focused on a task.

• A good practice for productivity is to focus on one aspect of the entire project. For example, on editing the date of all tasks together - left hand: "s" / "d" key to switch between tasks; right hand: operating the mouse on the inspectors.

• Create a New Task to the end of task list
  ⌘ + ("Command" + "+")

• Create a New Task to the next (below) of the selected task
  ⌥ + ("Option" + "+")
  or ⇧ ↩ ("Shift" + "Return")

• Remove the selected task

• Change task date
  • ⇧ ← ("Shift" + "Left Arrow") to move the selected task to the previous day

  • ⇧⌘ ← ("Shift" + "Command" + "Left Arrow") to move the selected task to be at the project start date
  • ⌘ 1…9 ("Command" + "1 ~ 9") to change the selected task duration to 1 ~ 9 days
  • ⌘⌥ 1…9 ("Command" + "Alt" + "1 ~ 9") to change the selected task workdays to 1 ~ 9 days
• Change task sequence
  • ⌘ ↓ ("Command" + "Down Arrow") to move the selected task down in the same task group
  • ⌘ ↑ ("Command" + "Up Arrow") to move the selected task up in the same task group
  • ⌘ Left Mouse Move Up/Down ("Command" + "Left Mouse Move-up / Move-down") to move a task up/down in the same group or across multiple groups
• Change task outline level
  • ⌘ ← ("Command" + "Left Arrow"), and ⌘ [ ("Command" + "]") to outdent task
  • ⌘ → ("Command" + "Right Arrow"), and ⌘ [ ("Command" + "[") to indent task
• Open sub-project
  • ⌘ ↩ ("Command" + "Return") to open the selected sub-project
  • ⌘ Double-click ("Command" + "Double Mouse Click") on any sub-project task to open it.
• Edit the selected task on updating panel
  • ⌘ E ("Command" + "e") to show or hide the Inspectors ( the updating panel).
  • Mouse Double-click on the WBS column of a task in the Outline List.
  • Mouse Double-click on the taskbar on the Gantt Chart.
• Collapse / Expand task group(s)
  • ⇧⌥ → ("Shift" + "Option" + "Right Arrow") to expand the selected task group
  • ⇧⌥ ← ("Shift" + "Option" + "Left Arrow") to collapse the selected task group
  • ⇧⌥⌘ → ("Shift" + "Option" + "Command" + "Right Arrow") to expand ALL task groups
  • ⇧⌥⌘ ← ("Shift" + "Option" + "Command" + "Left Arrow") to collapse ALL task groups
  • ⌘ Double-lick ("Command" + "Mouse Double Click") on a task group to collapse / expand it
  • Five fingers on the touch pad put five fingers on the touchpad (no need to press, just put the fingers on) to collapse / expand all the task groups
• Undo
